Under the motto of ‘Ensuring a happy Lunar New Year for all trade union members, along with workers and employees’, the Da Nang Labour Federation is set to organize various activities to support the well-being of its members in efforts to ensure a safe, cheerful, warm, and happy Lunar New Year (Tet) for them.

During upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) 2024, trade unions at all levels across the city will prioritize providing support for workers living under especially difficult circumstances, those who suffer from a workplace accident or an occupational disease, natural disaster victims, those who experience a reduction in working hours, those who lost their jobs, those from policy beneficiary families, and those who are unable to return home to celebrate Tet.

Focus will be paid to launching such programs as 'Tet Reunion - Spring of Love', ‘celebrating Tet far from home’, pre-Tet visits, and Tet gift-giving activity. In addition, the ‘Trade Union Tet Journey’ program will provide transportation support for workers in difficult circumstances to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet with their families.

Furthermore, Trade Union officials will encourage workers, employees and contractors to enjoy a warm, healthy, safe and economical Tet Festival, as well as ensure their compliance with national laws and regulations, and return to work on time after Tet. Trade union organizations will closely work with their businesses to boost productivity and efficiency.

Trade unions at all levels will actively work with relevant agencies to monitor employers in a bid to ensure timely payment of salaries and Tet bonuses to workers and employees. Heed will be paid to dealing with employee-related problems in businesses, such as wage arrears, Tet bonuses, and operational difficulties leading to dissolution or bankruptcy.

Trade unions will enhance dialogue with employers on their production plans, along with salaries and Tet bonuses for their staff while taking good care of spiritual and material life for them. Special attention will be paid to mobilizing resources to support workers and employees to help them enjoy a happy Tet.

The 2024 Trade Union Tet Fair hosted by the Da Nang Labour Federation, is scheduled to take place from January 18 to 21, 2024, at the Lien Chieu District Administrative Center. Accordingly, 30,000 free shopping vouchers will be offered to employees in difficult circumstances in order to allow them to choose and buy Tet goods at the upcoming fair for free.

In addition, the Da Nang Labour Federation has set a target to provide cash support to 10% of the city’s total number of trade union members to help them celebrate Tet.
