The team will be in charge of participating in firefighting and rescue work at large-scale fire and explosion incidents that are at risk of causing serious damage to people and property.
Every month, the team members will take part in advanced training courses to master individual techniques and firefighting and rescue skills; as well as become proficient in using firefighting and rescue equipment.
According to Colonel Phan Van Dung, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Police, the establishment of the Special Fire Fighting and Rescue Team comes from practice and is appropriate to the current situation.
In the context of the expansion of urban areas, industrial parks, industrial clusters, export processing zones, and service providers, and a boom in high-rise buildings, there is an increased occurrence of fire and explosion incidents in the city.
Therefore, it is necessary to gather forces that are truly capable, well-qualified, and uniform in firefighting, rescue, and salvage expertise to mobilise and effectively handle such incidents.
