Despite their hard work, and working outside in hot or wet weather, the sanitation workers in Da Nang are always dedicated to performing their assigned tasks, contributing to developing Da Nang into one of the most eco-friendly cities in Viet Nam. Through their specific actions, many workers have demonstrated the nation's morality of “Loving others as you love yourself”, showed love for their co-workers, and returned the lost items to their owners.

Having been dedicated to the environmental sanitation work for over 30 years, Vo Cu, a worker of the Team 1 from the Son Tra District Environment Enterprise is highly committed to his job. His work starts at 5:00 a.m. He spends the day with a small garbage truck to collect solid waste from many streets in An Hai Dong and Phuoc My wards, Son Tra District where many tourism service establishments and traditional markets are located. Therefore, these places generate a large amount of trash a day. On average, Cu and his co-workers conduct 7 rounds a day to keep local streets clean and beautiful.

“Every day, we strive to finish our work. We don't stop working just because our shift is over in order to collect all the waste, and never leave it on the street overnight," shared Mr. Vo Cu.

Mr.Tran Mai Truong, the Director of the Son Tra Environmental Enterprise, noted that despite the large daily amount of waste collection, worker Vo Cu always excellently completes his duties. He earns respect and love from his colleagues due to his dedication to work, and active engagement in the enterprise’s emulation movements. In addition, he has been named among the enterprise’s outstanding workers.

Interestingly, during his over 30 years of service, Cu has several times found valuable properties and personal documents that had been dropped on the street or accidentally mixed with the garbage. He has returned these items to their owners.

Given the special nature of the job, many workers of the enterprise have frequently found lost items, and personal documents during their work process, and always try to return them to their owners.

In recent years, the honesty of many workers of the Hai Chau Environmental Enterprise is what has made them stand out as a shining example to others as they have reunited lost items with their owners.

Ms. Pham Thi Lan is an example. In June 2023, she was honoured with a certificate of merit from the Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee, and was granted the title of “Good People, Good Deeds” as she returned lost valuable property to its owner.

Furthermore, other employees of the Hai Chau Environmental Enterprise like Ms. Tran Thi Thu, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuan, and Mr. Tran Ngoc Nam who found personal documents, money, and valuable property, including laptops, reported to their company in order to return lost items to their owners.

The Chairman of Hai Chau Environmental Enterprise’s Trade Union organization, Tran Van Nhut, said: "We always encourage its workers to pay attention to quickly discovering valuable property,  personal documents, and other items that have been dropped or accidentally mixed in the garbage, during their work process in a bid to return them to their owners. This is one of our company’s ways to demonstrate the nation's morality of “Loving others as you love yourself”, and promote social cohesion. Many workers have found lost items and personal identity documents, and then returned them to their owners without asking for a reward. However, they have been honoured for their honesty by leaders of the Da Nang Urban Environment JSC.

In 2023, the Da Nang Urban Environment company focused on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morality, and lifestyle among its  employees by engaging them in their practical actions associated with their daily assisted tasks, as well as encouraging their active participation in ensuring urban cleanliness.

Importance was attached to promoting the 'Good People, Good Deeds,' movement among the company’s staff while raising over VND 66 million to support the family of worker Le Xuan Phuc in the Cam Le Environmental Enterprise as he suffers from a life-threatening illness. In addition, VND 53.4 million in financial aid went to help worker Nguyen Hong Van of the Ocean and River Cleanup Enterprise who is under treatment in the Da Nang Oncology Hospital.
