Female official in village-level Fatherland Front Committee wins local people's trust
Residents' trust in Fatherland Front Committee’s officials is to measure their capabilities and credibility. According to 61 year- old Nguyen Thi Hong Van’s experience, building trust in local communities is fundamental to success of local authority-launched movements and programs. Mrs. Van serves as an official in Fatherland Front organization of Giang Nam 1 Village, Hoa Phuoc commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong Van is loved by local residents for her commitment and dedication to local emulation movements. Over the past 10 years, she has been active in engaging locals in the movement ‘All people unite to build new-style rural areas, and civilized urban areas’, as well as exemplifying her role in driving local development.
Previously, many roads and alleys in the Giang Nam 1 Village had been narrow and lacked street lighting, causing difficulties for residents to travel. Therefore, Mrs. Van and other village officials went door to door to encourage residents to donate land for road and alley widening in line with the national and municipal governments 's directions. In recent years, numerous residents have selflessly contributed land for expansion of roads and alleys. At the same time, lighting installation in alleys has received strong support from the public. As a result, the Giang Nam 1 village has witnessed positive changes and turned itself into a more civilized and modern place.
Most recently, Mrs. Van has successfully raised over VND 350 million from local residents to renovate and embellish the village's community house and its temple. These works have been completed soonest thanks to active support of local residents.
She has also been active in engaging local communities in spreading love and kindness towards those in need.
Recently, upon knowing that Mrs. Nguyen Thi Chien, a family breadwinner who is suffering from a serious illness and facing financial hardships, Mrs. Van has raised over VND 8 million from philanthropists and local residents to help Mrs. Chien pay for medical treatment.
Additionally, Mrs. Van has called for financial support from donors to help Mr. Tran Hung and his wife who suffered an accident.
"I am deeply moved by the encouragement and support from local officials like Mrs. Van. The kindness of local residents motivates me and my wife recover quickly," Mr. Hung expressed.
Over the past year, Mrs. Van consistently showed care and support for disadvantaged families and sick people. During the 2023 Festival of Great National Solidarity, the Village’s Fatherland Front Organization gave cash gifts valued at VND 500,000 to 14 disadvantaged families.
In these days leading to the Tet Festival, Mrs. Van has been active in calling for cash donation to give Tet gifts to local needy families as Tet is nearing.
Mrs. Van was honoured with certificates of merit from the Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the 2023 movement ‘All people unite to build new-style rural areas, and civilized urban areas’, and her dedication to the Fatherland Front's work.
