Hoa Vang District strives to turn itself into town

Authorities in Hoa Vang District held a meeting on Tuesday to review the implementation of tasks in 2023, and deploy new tasks in 2024.

In his remarks at the meeting, Hoa Vang District’s Party Committee Secretary To Van Hung acknowledged and highly lauded the great efforts and determination of the political system and people of the entire district in completing targets, and socio-economic and defence - security plans, in 2023.

He took the opportunity to ask relevant agencies, units and localities across the district to comply with the leaders' commitment, as well as promptly report any difficulties and problems arising during the implementation process.

The focus should be on improving the efficiency of the political system, bringing satisfaction to people and businesses; making the most of specific resources and policy mechanisms; and implementing economic growth tasks, he emphasised.

As reported at the meeting, in 2023, the value added (VA) of the entire district was estimated to reach VND2,760 billion, reaching 101.9% of the target, an increase of 4.82% compared to 2022.

Specifically, VA in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries generated an estimate of VND458 billion, up 0.88% against 2022; that of industrial, cottage industry and construction fields VND 795 billion, up 3.25%; and that of commercial and service fields VND1,507 billion, up 6.96%.

The total budget revenue in 2023 was VND503,649 billion, representing 99.2% of the city estimate and 96% of the Hoa Vang District People's Council estimate.

The average income per capita in 2023 was estimated to reach VND57.5 million/person/year, a rise of 11.62% in comparison with 2022. The number of poor households with working capacity was decreased by 333. A total of 2,376 jobs were created for needy people.

The district’s total fertility rate went up 2.11‰ compared to 2022. The locality completed 100% of the military delivery target in 2023.

In 2024, Hoa Vang District strives to complete and exceed a number of key targets. In particular, VA is expected to increase by 4.57% compared to 2023. The total State budget revenue is likely to go up 3-5% compared to the city's estimate. 2,300 jobs will be offered to workers. The fertility rate will increase by 0.03‰. The average income per capita will reach VND64 million/person/year. Two communes will meet advanced new rural standards and 2 others will be recognized as typical new-style rural areas.

During the event, the People's Committee of Hoa Vang District launched a movement in 2024 in association with the district's annual theme of "Year of strengthening discipline and administrative discipline; and continuing to perfect the criteria for building the district to reach a grade IV urban area”. The movement will be carried out from January to November 2024.

On the occasion, the People's Committee of Hoa Vang District awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Hoa Phuoc Commune for its great contributions to the cause of building socialism and protecting country during the 2018-2022 period.

Also, Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee were presented to collectives that successfully fulfilled emulation movements and tasks in 2023.
