The Da Nang People's Committee has just received Phase 2 of the cooperation project between Da Nang City and Yokohama City in Japan to realize a carbon neutral society through a carbon management system and decarbonization technology sponsored by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment through Carbon Free Consulting JSC with a budget of more than VND 8.1 billion.

The goal of the project is to determine the possibility of introducing a new carbon management system (CMS) and decarbonization technologies such as energy management systems (EMS) and electroluminescent devices at the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park.

Accordingly, from now until April 2026, Japanese experts and units will coordinate with Da Nang relevant agencies to conduct surveys and research to evaluate the potential for building a new carbon neutral society in Da Nang and based on the results achieved under Phase 1 of the  cooperation project between Da Nang and Yokohama City.

The Hoa Khanh Industrial Park was chosen for main research within the framework of Phase 2 of the above-mentioned project because this place has the highest electricity usage level and demand according to Phase 1 research, and is the subject that needs to reduce CO emissions to achieve carbon neutrality. Given the results of research and surveys, Japanese experts and units will support and guide the city in building a new carbon management system, contributing to implementing Viet Nm's commitment to Net Zero emissions by 2050.
