Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang paid visits to construction sites of some vital projects on the first workday the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday on Monday.

Giving spiritual encouragement to leaders of the Da Nang Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, contractors and workers who are on duty at the coastal route connecting to the soon-to-be-constructed Lien Chieu Port, Secretary Quang highly appreciated their great efforts and outstanding achievements last year. He suggested them to continue to promote thr spirit in 2024.

Reporting to the city leader, Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Director of the Da Nang Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, said that the 2.96km-long coastal route connecting to the soon-to-be-constructed Lien Chieu Port has a total investment of VND1,203 billion VND.

Determining that this is one of the city’s driving and key project, the Management Board has directed the contractor consortium and coordinated with relevant units to complete such items as relocating graves and underground cables, and building the underground tunnel.

During his visit to the construction site of the project to upgrade the Peace Monument and expand the March 29 Square, Mr. Quang emphasised that this was one of the city’s highlight projects and a work of special spiritual and cultural significance.

He, therefore, asked contractors to focus on human and material resources to ensure the on-schedule progress, and the quality and aesthetics of the project.

The more than VND212 billion project to upgrade the Peace Monument and expand the March 29 Square includes 2 phases and is divided into 3 subdivisions. In particular, the second phase and the third subdivision of the project is under construction with a total investment of more than VND101 billion. To date, 80% of the project has been already completed. The project is expected to be constructed within 300 days and to be completed on March 20, 2024.

When visiting workers who are constructing a social apartment building for people with meritorious services to the revolution on Vu Mong Nguyen Street, the city Party chief Quang noted that the very important project showed the good tradition of “when drinking water, remembering its source”.

He hoped that the project’s Management Board, contractors, and construction units will strive to overcome difficulties to complete the project on schedule as well as ensure quality and technical requirements.

Work started on the project on December 28, 2022, and it is expected to be completed in October 2024.
