Da Nang poor workers offered free home-coming buses to celebrate Tet

As part of the Labor Confederation-organised ‘Trade Union Tet Journey’ programme 2024, the first free coaches departed at the Cultural and Sports Centre for Workers in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, on Saturday to bring poor immigrant workers in the city to return home for the upcoming Tet holiday.

Six out of a total of 85 free coaches took poor immigrant workers back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet. 

The ‘Trade Union Tet Journey’ programme 2024 takes place from February 3 - 8 (the 24th to 29th days of the last lunar month of the Year of Cat). In particular, the farthest destination in Northern Viet Nam is Thanh Hoa Province, in Southern Viet Nam is Phu Yen Province and in the Central Highlands is Dak Lak Province. During the programme, a total of 3,371 trade union members and workers in difficult circumstances will be brought back home to celebrate Tet with their families and relatives.

On such free rides, each trade union member is supported with a free lunch meal worth VND100,000 each from the city's Confederation of Labour.
