Da Nang top leader visits production establishments after Tet

On Friday, the 7th day of the 1st lunar month of 2024, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, along with Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh, paid visits to some businesses at the beginning of the Lunar New Year.

Secretary Nguyen Van Quang congratulated the Da Nang Port on its outstanding achievements last year. He asked leaders of the unit to focus on the project of converting the Tien Sa Port into a tourist port, preparing resources for the implementation of the Lien Chieu Port project, and actively getting involved in ensuring local social welfare activities.

He, at the same time, requested the Da Nang Port to continue to make its efforts to complete its production and business goals set for 2024, effectively maintain production activities, ensure stable jobs, increase income for workers, actively research to expand markets, restructure businesses, and diversify productsthereby contributing to the successful implementation of the city's socio-economic development goals.

On behalf of the leaders of Da Nang Port, Mr. Tran Le Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee cum General Director of the port, said that in 2023, the unit's production and business targets will increase by 5-7% over the same period last year.

In particular, in January 2024, the targets for revenue and the amount of goods passing through the port increased by more than 60% compared to the same period last year. This is a good sign for the Da Nang market in particular and the Central region in general.

When visiting the Da Nang International Airport, municipal Party chief Quang proposed to continue building and developing the airport into an impressive and reliable destination for domestic and foreign tourists.

On the occasion, he directly went to the international terminal at Da Nang International Airport to give lucky money to tourists and staff working at the international terminal. ​

Also in the morning of the same day, the delegation visited and sent Tet greetings to leaders and employees of the March 29 Textile and Garment JSC.

According to a report released by Mrs. Pham Thi Xuan Nguyet, General Director of the company, in 2023 alone, the company's industrial production value reached VND1,125 billion, representing 101% over the same period. The export turnover was US$66.3 million, equal to 89% over the same period.

The average income of workers is VND8.95 million/person/month, equal to 103% over the same period. The company has developed a number of new customers and new markets, ensuring enough production orders until June 2024.

Congratulating the company on its remarkable achievements last year, Mr. Quang also praised the company's leaders for their great efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges, especially its path to transform production activities towards green and clean.

At the branch of the Foxlink Group (Taiwan) in the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park, Mr. Quang congratulated the company on choosing Da Nang as a place to invest in a factory and believed that this was the right decision.

He pledged that the city leaders as well as the Authority of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks will continue to accompany and support the company in its production and business activities next time.

When visiting the Authority of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, Mr. Quang was informed about some potential projects which will be carried out in the city.

Specifically, the Foxlink Group is likely to invest in phase 2 and the following phases in Da Nang with a total investment of up to US$400 million.

Additionally, the ICT Vina Group will pour about US$277 million into phase 2. A number of semiconductor enterprises from Taiwan and Japan are researching investment in the Da Nang High-Tech Park, with expected land of about 500 hectares.

For his part, Mr, Quang asked the Authority to promoting investment attraction in the city’s priority areas such as electronics, semiconductor, and modern medical equipment.

Special attention should be paid to carefully preparing conditions for the expansion of the High-Tech Park in the second, he noted.
