Municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh is appointed Head of the board. Deputy heads are Colonel Doan Duy Tan, Political Commissar of the Da Nang Military Command; Colonel Do Van Dong, Political Commissar of the city's Border Guard Command; and Mrs. Tran Thi Man, Vice Chairwoman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city. 23 members of the board are representatives of departments, agencies, units and localities in the city.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of the board, Vice Chairman Minh emphasised that protecting sovereignty and sovereign rights of the sea and islands was sacred to the country and people. The establishment of the city's ‘Fund for Viet Nam's Sea and Islands’ was extremely necessary.

He asked the Mobilisation Board to focus on well fulfilling assigned tasks. At the same time, he requested the municipal Party Committee's Publicity and Training Department to coordinate with the Department of Information and Communications to widely publicise the Mobilisation Board to the public, thereby mobilising units, organisations and individuals inside and outside the city to actively support the city's ‘Fund for Viet Nam's Sea and Islands’.

In her remarks at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman Tran Thi Man affirmed that Viet Nam's sea and islands were part of the sacred territory of the Fatherland, through thousands of years of history. Building and protecting the national sovereignty over its sea and islands were the noble right and obligation of every Vietnamese person.

In recent years, Da Nang has always had practical and meaningful activities to encourage officers, soldiers and people to contribute their efforts to building and protecting the sacred sovereignty of the country, she noted.
