Using social media to promote positivity is also the key task of educators in an attempt to give the direction and spread the positivity to their students so that they can have the right views on an issue suitable to their school and age.
According to the admins of Facebook pages of some schools in the city, sharing stories of good deeds through schools’ Facebook has inspired more students to follow, thereby contributing to bringing values of life in young people, inspiring them to perform good deeds or actions to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Social media has undoubtedly brought about positive changes, such as increased communication and connectivity, economic benefits, and educational opportunities, commented Mr. Le Chien, the Founder of the SASA Marine Animals Rescue Center with 62,000 followers on its Facebook.
At one time the Center attracted up to 20 rescuers who volunteered to protect coral reefs, and sea creatures as a whole, in Da Nang and neighboring localities, thereby bringing positive energy to the Center’s staff to inspire them to successfully create artificial coral reefs.
Mr. Chien hoped that sharing good news along with inspiring and positive stories through the Center’s Facebook will help cultivate positive behavior and thinking in the public in order to encourage their active participation in protecting coral reefs, and preserving reef-building coral genetic resources in the face of climate change and rising sea temperatures.
“Our Facebook page highlights the important role of coral reefs in protecting the marine environment. Hence, the importance of coral reefs as a source of life-saving products is a powerful reason for improving efforts to protect them. We hope for support from local authorities to help us create a marine protected area for supporting coral reef resilience," Mr. Chien remarked.
