The campaign attracted the participation of more than 100 people including sponsors, members from the running community, and Ta Lang and Gian Bi villagers.

Accordingly, 500 large trees were planted by units and local people on an area of 4 ha of community forest in Gian Bi Village.

This activity is part of the project "Bringing the forest back to its roots" which is implemented through funding from the UpRace 2023 community running project.

During the first phase of the project from February to May, GreenViet will coordinate with local authorities and people of Hoa Bac Commune to plant about 38,556 forest trees on an area of 26.1 ha of community forest and forests of households in sub-zones 18, 21 and 27.

The total forest area that will be implemented in the entire project is about 30 ha with 39,600 large trees, including golden oak, Erythrophleum fordii, Michelia mediocris and Chukrasia tabularis.

In addition, the launching ceremony of planting a large timber forest in Hoa Bac Commune was part of the programme "One million urban green trees" carried out by GreenViet in response to the national government's programme of planting one billion green trees in the 2021 - 2025 period and Viet Nam's commitment at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Summit (COP26) to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
