The 10 most typical Women's Union chapters in Da Nang were honoured at a ceremony held in the city on Friday to mark the 114^th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8) and the 1984^th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung (the two Trung sisters)'s uprising..

Launched in 2008 by the municipal Women’s Union, the ‘Typical Chapters of Da Nang Women's Union’ Awards aims to honour outstanding women in recognition of their active involvement in the city’s construction and development. Up to now, the awards have been maintained for 17 years and become an annual thematic award of the city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairwoman of the Da Nang Women's Union Hoang Thi Thu Huong said that 2024 is the first year that the award will be implemented according to Resolution No. 91 issued by the municipal People's Council regulating the payment of bonuses for specific awards and topics with many new criteria, thereby creating strong emulation motivation and being the striving goal of Women's Union organisations at all levels.

She added that the 10 honourees had the most outstanding achievements in 2023, representing 1,200 women's union chapters across the city which actively contributed to the construction and development of Da Nang.

This year, the first prize went to the chapter of the Women's Union in Khuong My Village, Hoa Phong Commune, Hoa Vang District. The second prizes went to the chapters in Tan Chinh 3, Xuan Ha Ward, Thanh Khe District, and in Binh Ky 2b Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District.

The chapters in Man Quang 4, Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District, and in Phu Son 1 Village, Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District, shared the third prizes.

The chapters No. 6 in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, and No. 5 in Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District, took the fourth prizes.

In addition, awards for three consecutive years were given to the Trung Hoa B3 chapter of the Women’s Union in Vinh Trung Ward, Thanh Khe District; chapter No. 13 in Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District, and chapter of Phuoc Thuan - Phuoc Hau Village in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District.

On the occasion, the municipal Women's Union launched an emulation movement 2024 themed "Increasing the application of information technology in union activities; Discipline among union officials at all levels; actively support women in economic development and social security".
