Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Quang Nam chaired the city's broadcasting bridge point.
In his closing speech at the event, the PM affirmed that the Party and State always paid attention to social welfare and took care of the material and spiritual lives of the people with a goal of building a strong, prosperous country with happy people. In particular, affordable housing remains a key pillar of Viet Nam's socio-economic development and one of the highest priorities of the Government.
According to a report by the Government, there have been 499 social housing projects implemented, providing a total of 411,250 housing units within 2021 to the end of 2023 in cities and provinces across the country, including 72 completed projects with 38,128 housing units, 129 projects that are under construction with 114,934 housing units and 298 projects that have been approved with 258,188 housing units.
However, the development of affordable housing nationwide has yet to meet the Government's goals, requirements and expectations. Also, there are still some problems and difficulties. Many localities do not have clean land funds available for the development of affordable housing.
The disbursement of the VND120,000 billion preferential credit package is still slow compared to expectations and practical needs.
To achieve the goal set in the project "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing units for low-income groups, industrial workers for the period 2021 - 2030", PM Chinh called on all relevant entities, individuals, and organisations based on their functions, tasks, and powers to fully exert their abilities and responsibilities in this work, thereby contributing to creating a movement and trend of developing true social housing.
He also urged the state, people, and enterprises to work together, putting themselves in others' positions, especially those who do not have access to affordable housing.
