In 2024, the district will continue to strengthen propaganda and dissemination of laws on forest protection and development, and forest fire prevention and fighting.

In particular, importance will be attached to raising people's awareness and responsibility about forest protection, and forest fire prevention and fighting.

Heed will be on paying periodical inspection visits to business establishments, forest product processing establishments, restaurants, and eateries to promptly prevent acts of violation on forest resources.

In addition, localities and units will continue to guide and encourage organisations and households to convert planted forests to large wood material forests in a bid to improve the economic and environmental value of planted forests; as well as promote scientific research and biodiversity conservation.

Regarding forest fire prevention and fighting, the district required relevant units to continue to well implement the motto "four-on-the-spot"; clean up vegetation before the hot summer season; and strengthen inspection, supervision, and management of fire sources in forested areas, especially for production activities on forest land and picnic tourism.

On the occasion, Son Tra District People's Committee honoured 7 collectives and 9 individuals for their outstanding achievements in forest protection and development, and forest fire prevention and fighting, in 2023.
