Previously, on April 13, Mr. N.H.N, a crew member on board Qna fish 95078TS from Quang Nam Province suddenly experienced symptoms of pain around the navel on the right side, while fishing in the waters east of the Hoang Sa Archipelago, about 315 nautical miles east of Son Tra Cape.

The victim's health condition got worse as he could not eat or drink. There were no measures to relieve pain.

Immediately after receiving emergency information, the Viet Nam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Viet Nam MRCC) coordinated with the Da Nang Coastal Information Station to give direct medical advice to the ship to provide initial first aid work for fishermen in distress, and request the ship to run at top speed towards Da Nang for timely assistance.

Through the medical consultation process, the doctors diagnosed that crew member N. had acute appendicitis and was in the purulent enteritis stage, so he needed urgent rescue to get medical access as soon as possible.

Viet Nam MRCC sent the specialised search and rescue ship SAR 412 permanently stationed in Da Nang to the scene to help the victim.

At 0:45 am on April 14, the maritime rescue team approached the fishing vessel and performed an on-site emergency medical treatment for the victim to stabilise his condition.

At 11:42 am on the same day, ship SAR 412 reached the mainland and handed over the victim to the authorities. The fisherman was then transferred to the hospital for further treatment.

Over the past week, ship SAR 412 promptly rescued 2 cases of fishermen in distress at sea due to health problems.
