Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong held a reception on Saturday morning for Brazilian Ambassador to Viet Nam Marco Farani, and a number of Brazilian football legends who arrived in Da Nang in preparation for the friendly match against Vietnamese ex-players during the Viet Nam - Brazil Football Festival 2024.

During his meeting with Brazilian guests, Vice Chairman Cuong highly praised the Brazilian diplomat for his great efforts in giving a helping hand to the city in recent years, especially successfully organising cultural and sports exchange events in the city.

The city leader remarked that the most-anticipated friendly match between Brazilian football stars and Vietnamese players on Saturday afternoon significantly contributed to strengthening the friendly and cooperative relationship between Brazil and Da Nang in particular, and Viet Nam in general.

He also highly lauded the establishment of the Brazilian Football Center in Da Nang as part of the Viet Nam - Brazil Football Festival 2024 in fostering the development of the football movement in the city in the near future.

Mr. Cuong also took the opportunity to thank Mr. Marco Farani and Brazilian footballers for attending the event, saying that the people of Da Nang in particular and Viet Nam in general are big fans of Brazilian football players.

He voiced his hope that the Brazilian footballers will have interesting experiences in the city and act as ambassadors to promote the image of Da Nang to international friends.

He expressed his desire that the Brazilian Ambassador will continue his efforts to connect and organise more cultural - sports, economic - social exchange activities between Brazil and Da Nang in the coming time.

For his part, Ambassador Marco Farani thanked the city leader for his special care and warm welcome.

He expressed his delight at the well-developed cooperation relationship between the two countries in all fields over the past years, especially after the visit to Brazil made by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in September 2023.

The Brazilian diplomat congratulated Da Nang on recent remarkable achievements, wishing to have many cooperative activities with the city in the years ahead.
