The Da Nang Family Hospital announced on Friday that it had just coordinated with Dr. Tang Ha Nam Anh, Chairman of the Viet Nam Arthroscopy and Joint Replacement Association, to successfully perform total knee replacement surgery for a female patient.

Previously, the 72-year-old patient, hailing from Quang Nam Province, came to Family Hospital for treatment with pain in the right knee joint for many years. The persistent pain greatly limited walking and movement.

After examination and performing paraclinical techniques, the hospital's doctors determined that the right knee joint of patient had severe degeneration, requiring total knee replacement surgery.

According to the family's wishes, the Family Hospital connected Dr. Tang Ha Nam Anh to directly perform surgery on patient. With the coordination between the hospital’s surgical team and doctor Tang Ha Nam Anh, the surgery was performed successfully and the patient was discharged from the hospital after 5 postoperative days.

Currently, the patient can move the knee joint gently and is receiving physical therapy to restore mobility of the right leg.
