Da Nang leader visits Dien Bien soldiers
Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh, on Thursday, visited and gave gifts to 4 soldiers and young volunteers who had directly engaged in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

They were Mrs. Vu Thi Bon (born in 1935), Mr. Nguyen Van Du (born in 1925), Mr. Quach Dao Hung (born in 1930) and Mr. Nguyen Van Toan (born in 1920), all residing in Hai Chau District.
Chairman Chinh expressed his gratitude for the youthful dedication of the soldiers and young volunteers in the resistance war against the French colonialists, contributing their efforts to the victory of Dien Bien Phu, thereby opening a new era for the Vietnamese revolution in reunifying the country.

He wished them good health and longevity, becoming a shining example for their children and grandchildren to follow. At the same time, he requested the Party Committee, local authorities, associations and unions to continue to encourage, care for and support the families of soldiers and young volunteers.
On the occasion, the city leader visited and burnt incense to martyr Nghiem Trong Pho (originally from Dong Linh, Thanh Ba, Phu Tho). Martyr Nghiem Trong Pho joined the army in 1947, directly participating in combat and sacrifice at the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Currently, martyr Nghiem Trong Pho is worshiped by his grandchildren in Xuan Ha Ward, Thanh Khe District.
