Da Nang young man devoted to charitable work
With the fervour of youth, Mr Nguyen Khac Nhu, who was born in 1987 in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District, is vibrant and enthusiastic in his charitable endeavours. He also serves as a bridge, helping the impoverished, supporting poor studious children, and lending a hand to the sick.

For over 10 years, Nguyen Khac Nhu has tirelessly mobilised charitable organisations and benefactors both within and outside the city to build schools, repaire roads, provide medical treatment, construct suspension bridges, install electricity, drill wells, and more for people in mountainous areas.
During the 2022-2023 school year, he visited the Lạp Loa school in Tra Tap Commune, Nam Tra My District, Quang Nam Province nine times to provide free haircut services, donate books and educational materials, cook for children, supply materials, repair schools, install electricity, and give plant seeds and household items for local residents.
Whenever he has free time, he makes use of every moment to take photos and learn about difficult circumstances as evidence to call for assistance.
Pupils living in remote areas often lack both material and spiritual resources, and the literacy journey is extremely challenging. In addition to building schools and providing learning tools, he wants to organize field trips and practical experiences to nurture the dreams and aspirations of these children.
In recent times, he has connected over 100 units, businesses, clubs, and philanthropists to support particularly difficult areas such as Tra Vinh, Tra Van, and Tra Nam communes in Nam Tra My District, Quang Nam Province.
Mr Nhu happily shared "I just connected a philanthropist to donate VND700 million to build a school in Hamlet 3B, Tra Vinh Commune. The school, consisting of 2 classrooms, 1 kitchen, and 1 restroom, is expected to be inaugurated in May.
On average, he receives over 200 books and school supplies, and 100 household items per month to give children and people in mountainous areas. Moreover, upon discovering cases of severe illness or children with congenital heart disease, he investigates their circumstances and arranges for medical treatment.
Aside from sponsorship connections, he also contributes labour to assist in road and school construction and repairs, free car repairs for teachers, and supporting locals in farming and husbandry.
Speaking about the difficulties, the young man said "I dedicate 4 months a year to volunteer work. There are times when I feel exhausted, and my legs want to stop, but when I think of the difficult lives of the children and the people in the mountains, I try to complete the tasks. As a connector, I focus on surveying and understanding the local situation, and comprehending the needs of the local people to ensure that projects are highly effective".
Accordingly, units, volunteers, and philanthropists must commit to ensuring food safety and hygiene for the "Cooking for Children" project, as well as closely monitoring and completing projects to build schools or roads on schedule.
“In the future, I will continue to connect and mobilize volunteers to accompany difficult localities; support the poor, the single and the sick; and maintain personal projects to carry out social welfare work effectively” he added.
According to Mr Nguyen Ba Duan, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Youth Union, Mr Nguyen Khac Nhu is an exemplary youth of the city's volunteer youth movement. With the proactive spirit and volunteerism of youth and the desire to bring happiness to unfortunate lives, Mr Nhu faces challenges and hardships without hesitation. Along with supporting units, he has carried out meaningful projects in highland and ethnic minority areas, becoming a shining example and motivating force for city youth to learn and strive for self-improvement.
