Disabled man in Da Nang overcomes difficulties to make a positive impact on people in same situation
Despite suffering from severe mobility impairments, along with incidents in family life, Mr. Nguyen Tran Van Nhan, residing in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, has chosen a positive lifestyle and spread great motivation to people in the same situation to get ahead in life.

Graduating from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in 2007, Mr. Nhan returned to Da Nang and had a stable job.
However, the traffic accident in 2009 left him paralyzed on one side due to traumatic brain injury. From a healthy young man with a stable and high income job, he suddenly became a severely disabled person.
The pain of losing his two younger siblings due to drowning had not yet subsided, he had to endure another pain. That loss and sadness sometimes made him want to give up everything. However, when thinking about the lives that had to endure more difficulties than him but still trying to overcome and rise up in life gave him more strength. Therefore, he persistently practiced to recover and stabilize his health.
Participating in many other volunteer activities has helped him become more confident. From then on, Mr. Nhan gradually affirmed his value - the value of a person who knows how to overcome difficulties, and to live happily with a warm heart.
He thought that his peaceful and happy family life would last forever. Unexpectedly, in 2021, Mr. Nhan had to once again suffer pain when his first 4-year-old son died from drowning in his maternal hometown of Nghe An Province. In early 2022, his wife proactively filed the divorce petition.
Pain piles on pain. Every time he suffers pain, Nhan sees it as a challenge in life. And he overcame those pains with all his faith and strength.
In 2023, Mr. Nhan was introduced a job as a technical employee at the Rubbersoul Vietnam Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park by the Da Nang Association of People with Disabilities. Aside from working hours, he spends all his remaining time on volunteer activities.
Mr. Nhan said “Job and volunteer activities give me a lot of motivation. There are many difficult situations and I will try my best to share love with them in the coming time".
Also, he practiced writing poetry and singing so that he could bring his lyrics and singing to cancer patients, street children, children in remote mountainous areas, and single elderly people living. His lyrics have partly helped cancer patients overcome physical pain, and helped children and the elderly feel a warmer life.
Currently, the 39-year-old man is a member of the municipal Association of People with Disabilities. This social work has helped him and many people in the same situation know how to live happily and spread good things to the community despite many defects.
