A ceremony was held in Da Nang on Friday to honour collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements in organising the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024, the 2^nd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF II) and the 13^th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) in 2024.

In his remarks at the event, municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the great determination and efforts of agencies, units and localities in organising DIFF, DANAFF II and ASG in 2024.

He emphasised that this year, the scale and quality of the aforementioned events were raised with diverse side activities, whilst traffic security and food safety were ensured. Thanks to that, the city attracted a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to spreading and enhancing the brand of Da Nang as “Asia's Leading Festival and Event Destination”.

He affirmed that the success of the events not only promoted the tourism industry and developed the socio-economy, but also showed determination and drastic direction of the city's leaders, and great efforts made by departments, branches, and localities.

Chairman Chinh thanked the direction and facilitation of the Central agencies, and the support and companionship of agencies, units, and enterprises. At the same time, he asked the organisers of the events to proactively develop plans and promptly discuss solutions to organise events well next year in order not to disappoint the expectations of local people and tourists.

On the occasion, Chairman Chinh awarded Certificates of Merit to 30 collectives and 17 individuals in recognition of their active involvement in organising DIFF 2024; 7 collectives and 3 individuals in consulting and organising DANAFF II; and 14 collectives and 3 individuals in organising the ASG.
