Around VND19.7 billion raised for "For the Poor" Fund

As of June 30, 2024, nearly VND19.7 billion had been raised for Da Nang’s "For the Poor" Fund, exceeding nearly 6.6% over the same period last year.

Of this figure, around VND 1.12 billion was used to build and repair 32 solidarity houses, VND509.1 million to provide means of livelihood for 65 people, VND 290.3 million to grant scholarships to 662 poor pupils, and more than VND 22.85 billion to give Tet gifts to the needy.

The information was released by the Standing Board of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city at the Thursday meeting to review its performance in the first half of the year and identify new tasks for the remaining months.

In the last 6 months of the year, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang will concentrate on perfecting the Mobilisation Board of the city’s Relief Fund; continuing to mobilise people from all walks of life to contribute to the "For the Poor" Fund, launching the peak month 'For the Poor' in 2024, taking care for the poor one the occasion of Tet Festival 2025, and completing the target of building solidarity houses for the needy.
