Free public Wi-Fi spots inaugurated in Da Nang's centre district
The People's Committee of Hai Chau District in partnership with the Da Nang branch of the military-run telecom giant Viettel Group (Viettel Da Nang) inaugurated some of free public Wi-Fi systems in the locality on Wednesday.

Accordingly, free public Wi-Fi systems have been installed at cultural houses, community centres, public parks, and walking gardens in 13 wards across the district.
By late 2024, Viettel Da Nang targets to install free Wi-Fi systems at 96 spots in the district with an estimated operating cost of about VND 288 million/year.

Within the framework of the programme, the People's Committee of Hoa Cuong Nam Ward launched a free digital transformation class model for the elderly called "Smartphone and Internet - Easy and Safe". The purpose of the model is to help people easily access information, download, use digital platforms, look up, submit administrative procedures online, participate in online courses, and update news.
Also on the same day, Viettel Da Nang presented 6 smartphones with free 4G network packages for 90 days to families in difficult circumstances in Hoa Cuong Nam Ward.
From July 21 to August 28, Viettel Da Nang donated 30 smartphones for 25 poor families in Hai Chau District.
