Reviewing IT infrastructure to serve digital transformation
Giving directions at the meeting on Tuesday with leaders of the Department of Information and Communications, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang requested the unit to review the information technology infrastructure and transmission lines to serve digital transformation; as well as to advise the allocation of infrastructure resources to serve information technology and digital transformation.

The focus should be on completing databases in some key areas such as healthcare, land and civil status in a bid to improve the quality of public administrative services, and strive for the rate of online public services to reach 100%, he added.
As reported at the meeting, Director of the municipal Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Quang Thanh informed that the rate of online public services in the city is the highest in the country at 95% (the average of provinces and cities nationwide is 55%); and the rate of documents processed online is 65% (the average of provinces and cities is 17%).
Notably, Da Nang has been recognised and evaluated by the National Committee for Digital Transformation for having many good and effective models, solutions, and initiatives. As a result, it has been chosen as a typical model which has been replicated nationwide.
The city's leadership and management are gradually transforming to a digital environment based on digital data through the Intelligent Operation Centre (IOC), contributing to improving the effectiveness of administrative reform.
Digital technology is integrated into industries and fields, creating momentum for improving growth quality and labour productivity, and shifting the economy towards a digital economy.
Revenue from the city’s information technology industry grows by an average of 10-15%/year, and the software export turnover increases by 15%/year. The scale of the digital economy in 2023 accounted for 20.69% of the city's GRDP (exceeding the target of 20% in 2025). There are 2.3 digital technology enterprises/1,000 people (3 times higher than the national average).
On the occasion, the Standing Committee of the Da Nang Party Committee presented flowers to congratulate the Department of Information and Communications on the occasion of Viet Nam's National Digital Transformation Day (October 10).
Secretary Quang said that the Department of Information and Communications has made many contributions to the overall development of the city, especially in promoting digital government, digital economy, and digital society.
Digital transformation and smart city building in Da Nang have been highly evaluated by domestic and international agencies and organisations through national and international awards.
