Attractive game show 'Happy - healthy after-work time'
In 2024, the game show ‘Happy - healthy after-work time’ is one of the milestones in the Trade Union activities of the Da Nang Labour Federation when for the first time, workers have their own playground on the channel of Da Nang TV.
Playground for workers
The game show ‘Happy - healthy after-work time’ is organised by the Da Nang Labour Federation, in coordination with the Da Nang TV, to introduce the image of the city's workers in the period of promoting industrialisation and modernisation; demonstrating dynamism, creativity, self-reliance, aspirations, good work performances, beautiful lifestyle and attachment to Da Nang Trade Union’s organisations.
Each programme has three teams from Trade Union grassroots under the Da Nang Labour Union levels, each team has four members. The teams will go through three rounds: Self-introduction; Who is right? Who is wrong?; Happy, healthy workers.
In the opening part, the three teams must have a humorous introduction with a motto of action that shows creativity and unique features of their units. In the second part, the teams watch and process clips of right and wrong situations related to the Labour Code, the Law on Social Insurance, and policies and regimes for workers.
“The situations presented are very realistic, encountered in the daily lives of workers, so intelligence and courage will determine the score of each team in this part”, said Ms. Le Ha Quynh Anh, a contestant from the team of the Trade Union of the Asia Park Company.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, a worker at the Hoa Cam Industrial Park, Da Nang, a fan participating in the game show commented: "I like the way the programme builds legal situations. It is just an exchange between two women about a very normal thing, but in that normal story are very real situations that occur in daily life that workers usually encounter. With that very normal way of doing things, the audience like us remember longer than receiving leaflets, reading them over and over again without fully understanding issues”.
Interspersed between the programmes are interesting challenges with attractive prizes for the audience at the studio called ‘Witty cheerleaders’. In the final competition category ‘Happy, healthy workers’, the endurance, flexibility, team spirit and dexterity of each member continue to be promoted through dramatic physical games.
According to Mr. Hoang Bach Tung, the Head of the Publicity Department of the Da Nang Labour Federation, in 2024, the game show will have 16 programmes recorded and broadcast with a frequency of two/month. At each programme, the Da Nang Labour Federation presents gifts to Trade Union members and workers who live in difficult circumstances.
2025 will be more attractive
According to Vice President of the Da Nang Labour Federation Dinh Thi Thanh Ha, ‘More attractive, More knowledgeable, More fun, More connected, More practical’ is the goal of the game show ‘Happy - healthy after-work time’.
Accordingly, each programme will see the competition between two teams, with each having seven members participating three parts: ‘Fun after-work time’, ‘Healthy after-work time’ and ‘Smart after-work time’.
In the ‘Fun after-work time’ competition, the two teams will get to know each other, interact through small games and introduce themselves. The drama in this competition must be mentioned in the true and false questions related to the Labour Code, the Law on Social Insurance, the regimes and policies for workers.
For each correct answer, the teams will gain one point. After five questions, if the scores of the teams are still equal, the organising committee will give additional questions.
In the ‘Healthy after-work time’ competition, members of each team will have interesting experiences through group movement games, which are entertaining, strengthen team spirit, enhance creativity, leadership as well as promote group productivity. In each programme, the games are chosen appropriately at such locations as beaches, farms, hill gardens, water parks and scenic spots.
Along with the movement games, the ‘Smart after-work time’ competition requires coordination, combination of skills, memory, agility, dexterity, and creativity among team members.
In each episode of the programme, the organizing committee selects a Trade Union member family with especially difficult circumstances, creates a video report to spread love, empathy, and sharing. From the Trade Union budget and other socialised sources, the Da Nang Labour Federation will give out gifts in support for this Trade Union member.
The highlight of this game show in 2025 is the location for organising the programme production at tourist attractions, historical relics, and scenic spots of Da Nang such as a peaceful eco-tourism area, close to nature in Hoa Bac Commune, Mikazuki modern Japanese-style water park and My Khe Beach.
According to Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Ha, for workers, who are engrossed in work overtime, playing any sport is too difficult for them. Therefore, through this game show, workers can compete with one another just for fun and mutual exchanges. Indeed, this is exactly what is called a playground for workers.
