Australian donation helps enhance care for Da Nang children and women

Lifestart Foundation, an Australian organisation dedicated to empowering disadvantaged children, has delivered a donation of advanced medical equipment, along with fresh milk, furniture and children’s books worth a total of VND1.82 billion to the Da Nang Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital.

The donation packgae aimed to elevate healthcare quality for children, and pregnant and post partum patients, contribute to enhancing nutrition and improving spiritual life, especially motivating children under treatment here. Accordingly, the Australian organisation - sponsored medical equipment for the hospital included a total of 8 modern medical equipment with a total value of nearly VND 1.81 billion including one 1 5-parameter patient monitor (model PVM-4761); 4 infusion machines (Terumo model: TE-LF630/TE*LF630N03); one reusable soft tissue biopsy gun (Magnum MG1522); one 32-channel video electroencephalograph (Model EEG32U); one general ultrasound machine (Model Versana Balance).

In addition to the cited medical equipment donation, Lifestart Foundation also handed over 720 cups of fresh milk to 60 disadvantaged children, as well as 50 plastic chairs, 79 children's storybooks and 252 colouring books with a total value of nearly VND 14 million to the Children’s Playroom at the Da Nang Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital in a bid to bring added support to the hospital’s youngest patients.

Founder of Lifestart, Karen Leonard said “This project is vital for enhancing healthcare services for paediatric and obstetric patients at the hospital. With this support, Lifestart Foundation hopes that the medical equipment will be used to its fullest potential, reducing overcrowding and helping patients in the central and highlands regions avoid travelling long distances for treatment.

This 1,500-bed hospital provides specialised care not only to Da Nang residents but also to the broader Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions.
