On November 21, the Management Board of Da Nang Traffic Construction Investment Projects in collaboration with the city’s Construction Technical Consultancy Centre, announced the results and presented awards for the design contest for the Le Thanh Nghi - Cach Mang Thang Tam - Thang Long - Hoa Xuan Bridge Approach Intersection Project.

Launched from May 19 to 28, the design contest attracted applications from seven participants. After 45 days of design work, 11 entries were sent to the organising board by 1 August 2024.

Based on the designs, the evaluation council reviewed, voted, and selected the best urban planning and architectural proposals to submit to the organisers and the Department of Construction for consideration.

As a result, the first prize of VND 400 million was awarded to a consortium comprising Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Vietnam Co., Ltd., T&D Viet Nam Construction Consulting JSC, NH Village Architecture Design Co., Ltd., and Hoa Phong E&C Development and Investment JSC.

The second prize of VND 200 million went to VTCO Investment Co., Ltd., while the third prize of VND 100 million was awarded to a consortium of Technology Investment Consulting and Development JSC, and An Thy Architecture and Construction JSC.

In addition, a community prize of VND 50 million was awarded to the consortium consisting of Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Vietnam Co., Ltd., T&D Viet Nam Construction Consulting JSC, and NH Village Architecture Design Co., Ltd. Five other teams with high scores that advanced to the second round received financial support.

According to the Management Board of Da Nang Traffic Construction Investment Projects, the rapidly increasing population in Hoa Xuan urban area has significantly heightened traffic demand. During peak hours, the high traffic density at this location often results in severe congestion.

Therefore, the construction of a new Hoa Xuan Bridge and the corresponding intersections is deemed critical to alleviating traffic congestion, improving flow capacity, and ensuring safety in the area.

Following the awards announcement, the management board will collaborate with the Department of Transport and consultancy units to further refine and develop feasible proposals. The selected designs for the Hoa Xuan Bridge and intersections will be submitted for approval, paving the way for implementation in the near future.
