Building Da Nang's image as friendly and hospitable destination
Implemented since the beginning of 2024, the clever mass mobilization model ‘Searching and returning lost items to tourists’ implemented by the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches has initially achieved positive results, contributing to building the image of Da Nang as a friendly city for tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, the Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches said that the clever mass mobilisation model ‘Searching and returning lost items to tourists, implemented by the board was highly appreciated by local residents and tourists.
The task of supporting the search for lost property at the beach for tourists while playing and swimming was assigned by the board to the Tourism Order Management Team to receive and process information at the Bien Dong Park operating station.
By the end of October 2024, the Management Board returned 41 cases of lost or dropped property of residents and tourists at Da Nang tourist beaches, of which 9 cases were transferred to the Da Nang Visitor Centre to search and return the property to foreign tourists.
Specifically, the unit received information about residents and tourists dropping property on the beach via the hotline, supported the search and handed over the lost property to tourists in 3 cases.
In early August 2024, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, a tourist from the capital city of Ha Noi, came to Da Nang for tourism. During her visit to the Lang Ong Park beach area, Ms. Anh unintentionally left her handbag, which contained a phone and many personal documents. She at first thought it was lost, but luck smiled on her when Mr. Phan Thanh Trinh, the Head of Working Group No. 2, Tourist Order Management Team contacted her for the returning of her property.
“I thank the Tourist Order Management Team for recovering and returning the property, I am very happy. I will bring my family back to Da Nang because this city is very peaceful and the people are friendly”, Ms. Anh said.
Previously, during the patrol, Mr. Trinh picked up a white women’s handbag on the beach containing an iPhone, VND 672,000 in cash and personal documents under the name Nguyen Ngoc Anh. Immediately after that, he contacted and returned it to Ms. Anh.
Mr. Trinh shared: “Our joy is to see the smiles and happiness of local people and tourists when they find lost items. We will make more efforts to promote the effectiveness of the model ‘Searching and returning lost items to tourists”. From there, I will contribute my small efforts to building the image of Da Nang as a safe and peaceful destination”.
While performing his duties at the beach in the East Sea Park area, Mr. Tran Hoang Nam, an employee of Task Force No. 2, the Tourism Order Management Team, picked up a handbag left on the beach containing an iPhone 7 Plus, VND 300,000 and personal documents in the name of Nguyen Do Thao Quyen, a tourist from Binh Thuan Province. Mr. Nam handed it over to the Team Command to later return it to its owner.
Recently, at the My Khe beach area, Mr. Tran Thanh Duc, an employee of Task Force No. 2 (Tourism Order Management Team) picked up a Samsung Galaxy S23 phone, inside the phone case were 15 USD and 10,000 won dropped by a South Korean tourist named Park Chan Kap. Mr. Duc handed it over to the team and quickly contacted to return it to the tourist.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, many domestic and foreign tourists, when their lost items were returned, wrote letters and phoned to express their gratitude for the unit's efforts in helping tourists find their lost property.
With the results achieved, in the coming time, the board will continue to strengthen the publicity of the model on the coastal loudspeaker system, install signs, write publicity articles on fanpages, broadcast newspapers and radio; call on locals and tourists when they find lost items to proactively post news or contact and bring them to the lost items reception area at the operating station.
At the same time, locals and tourists are encouraged to raise awareness in protecting their own property and personal belongings; deposit property at the luggage storage counters at public beaches, Service Business Groups at the beaches.
