The Standing Board of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee in Da Nang has recently announced the implementation plan for the programme “Support for the construction of 100 Great Unity houses for families with contributions to the revolution, underprivileged households, poor and near-poor families, and households with especially difficult circumstances in the revolutionary base areas of Quang Nam-Da Nang during the resistance period” with a total budget of VND 6 billion from the city’s budget.

The eligible criteria for receiving support for Great Unity houses prioritise families with revolutionary contributions, those in difficult circumstances, low-income households, poor and near-poor families, and households with especially difficult circumstances whose homes are severely degraded and need new construction; beneficiaries outside of Resolution No. 13/2023/NQ-HDN of the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Council regulating support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses across Quang Nam Province for the period 2023-2025, and Resolution No. 27/2024/NQ-HDN, which amends and supplements several articles of Resolution No. 13/2023/NQ-HDN of the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Council; households outside the target projects and approved national programmes for construction and repair support.

The implementation period for support is expected to be completed by March 28,  2025. This is a gesture of appreciation for policy beneficiary families and households in revolutionary base areas of Quang Nam-Da Nang during the resistance period, contributing practically to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang on March 29.

Additionally, in the conclusion announcement No. 02-TB/BCĐ dated 16 October from the Steering Committee for organising activities commemorating major holidays in 2025, Da Nang will support residential groups and hamlets to organise community festivals celebrating the 50th anniversary of Da Nang’s liberation, with a support amount of VND 7 million per residential group and VND 10 million per hamlet.

Besides, the city will hold an anniversary ceremony with a military parade and march on the morning of March 29, 2025 and organise fireworks displays at three locations, Bach Dang Street Square (the intersection of Bach Dang and Binh Minh 6 streets), in front of the Administrative Centre in Lien Chieu District, and the resettlement area on the Western Ring Road, with a river parade on the Han River and a floral float parade on the evening of March 28, 2025.

The city will also provide financial aid for the construction of a traditional house and a commemorative stele for the Women’s Liberation Union of Region V; and will spend VND 5 billion on renovating and upgrading the national historical relic of the Quang Da Special Zone Base in Hon Tau, Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province.
