Da Nang grants construction licences for 85 projects totalling over VND 61,000 billion

The Da Nang Department of Construction held a ceremony in the city on Friday to celebrate Viet Nam Urban Day (November 8) and a talk show to discuss the current situation and propose solutions and directions in urban management coordination.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the municipal Department of Construction Phung Phu Phong said that in 2024, the city has achieved many outstanding achievements, demonstrating its determination and efforts in implementing socio-economic development goals and administrative reform. In particular, the Department of Construction has had remarkable achievements in appraisal and issuance of construction licences.

Since early 2024, the Department of Construction has appraised and granted construction licences for more than 85 projects with a total investment of more than VND 61,000 billion. In particular, 100% of projects have been appraised and licenced ahead of schedule, of which more than 50% have been completed 7-10 days ahead of schedule. Major projects have made an important contribution to promoting the local socio-economic growth.

Planning work has also gained many positive results with the completion of 6 projects to adjust the city’s Master Plan to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Moreover, 11 subdivision planning projects have been approved, of which all 9 urban subdivision planning projects have been approved, and specialized technical infrastructure planning projects are expected to be adopted by the end of this year.

Districts across the city have made outstanding contributions to strongly improving urban infrastructure, and upgrading the transport infrastructure system, with a focus on protecting the ecological environment, conserving nature and renovating beach spaces to attract tourists.

At the talk show, experts, managers and architects contributed many important opinions on urban flood prevention, urban management, and landscape renovation and regeneration; ensuring water security; urban planning to respond to climate change; and orientation for the development of marine economy, green economy and circular economy.

The leaders of the municipal Department of Construction affirmed that sustainable urban development in Da Nang is an urgent task. The city prioritises taking digital economy, green economy, circular economy and increasing labor productivity as orientation; taking synchronous and modern infrastructure development, and administrative reform, as the foundation; taking education and training, high-quality human resource attraction, creativity and application of science and technology as the driving force; and taking cultural development, building civilized and ecological urban areas, maintaining natural conditions and protecting the environment as the focus.

The municipal Department of Construction requests that departments, sectors, units, localities, associations, experts, scientists, architects, and planners to continue to contribute to their ideas in planning and construction management to create a favourable and transparent investment and business environment, thereby promoting the local socio-economic development.
