Despite his difficult and dangerous job, firefighter Truong Van Trung, 25, who is working at the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Zone I under the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Division of the Da Nang Department of Public Security, and his teammates always put their lives on the line to protect lives and property of families in danger, and get them to safety.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Education and Science - the University of Da Nang, Truong Van Trung decided to volunteer to join the People's Public Security force.

After a period of training as a new soldier, Trung was assigned to work at the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Zone I in 2023. Trung shared that his dream of wearing the green uniform of a soldier had been with him for a long time and now it has come true.

Accordingly, in addition to extinguishing the fire as quickly as possible, preventing the fire from spreading, and rescuing victims, Trung and his teammates are tasked with saving lives and property of people.

"In fires and natural disasters, facing life and death, responsibility and love for job, many touching stories and many examples of selfless rescue of people in distress have motivated me to try harder. Despite the danger in advance, my teammates and I still do not hesitate to fulfill assigned tasks because for the police in general, and the fire and rescue police in particular, we always put the people first and foremost" Trung added.

Smoke, fire, and danger do not make him and his teammates waver, but on the contrary, they feel more clearly the challenges, limits, and courage in the face of life and death.

Mr. Trung and his teammates have participated in many firefighting and rescue operations in the city.

In particular, at noon on April 9, a fire broke out in a factory near the Tho Quang Fishing Port on Vung Thung 9 Street, Son Tra District. After receiving a report from local residents, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Division of the Da Nang Department of Public Security quickly dispatched 6 specialised vehicles along with dozens of firefighters to the scene.

Strong winds, combined with the appearance of foam boxes and tires in the factory, caused the fire to spread rapidly. Meanwhile, huge plumes of thick smoke were billowed from the site of the fire, covering the entire residential area and Tho Quang Fishing Port.

Thanks to great efforts made by firefighters, the fire was successfully controlled by 12:30 on the same day, and no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.

For nearly two years, Truong Van Trung's passion for the job has grown and he continues to strive to stick to the job for a long time.

Today's young soldiers are gradually continuing the heroic tradition of previous generations. They not only learn from their seniors, but also constantly improve their professional qualifications and train their mettle to face future challenges.
