Helping children unlock potential
Dozens of children and their parents in Da Nang participated in a programme designed to help children uncover their inner potential, explore themselves, and gain self-awareness on November 16 and 17. The event was organised by the Thong Dong Gift Centre for Life Skills.

At the workshop, the children had the opportunity to hear from Mr Mai Ngoc Phu, a motivational speaker who has inspired pupils at numerous schools nationwide. He shared insights on how to awaken and nurture their innate strengths and abilities.
Ms Le Thi Hien, the founder of the centre, explained that many adults today are overwhelmed by life’s pressures and have not had the time or means to help their children activate their hidden talents. She highlighted the organisers’ belief that everyone possesses unique value and that each person holds a hidden gem waiting to be uncovered to make a meaningful contribution to the world.
The programme featured a range of experiential activities, including games, group work, and presentations. These activities were thoughtfully designed by the organisers, drawing inspiration from self-development training programmes Ms Hien had attended. They aimed to help children discover themselves, absorb new knowledge, and enjoy an engaging and connected learning experience.
As shared by Ha Phuoc Nguyen, an 11-year-old from Hai Chau District, he really enjoyed this programme because it taught him so much about life. It helped him improve his teamwork skills and boosted his confidence in public speaking.
Accompanying her child, Mrs Le Thi Ngoc Lan (37 years old) remarked: "This programme is quite meaningful as it helps children understand themselves, build confidence, and find motivation. By focusing on what they excel at, a principle adopted by many successful individuals, they can begin to lead a free and fulfilling life even at this young age."
