In Hoa Vang District, many individuals stand out as role models for studying and following the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh, contributing actively to social welfare and the socio-economic development of their localities.
Serving as Chairwoman of the Red Cross and Vice Chairwoman of the Charity and Child Protection Association in Hoa Nhon Commune, Hoa Vang District, Le Bao Tu Nguyen is deeply committed to assisting as many disadvantaged individuals as possible. She actively mobilises benefactors and members to contribute funds for programmes and campaigns initiated by various levels.
She shared that through campaigns such as Tet for the Poor and Victims of Agent Orange and Kind-hearted Tet, she, alongside the Executive Committee of the commune's Red Cross and 14 village chapters, organised a Zero-VND Tet Market, distributing 650 gifts with a total value of VND 325 million. Under the campaign Each Organisation or Individual Associates with a Charitable Address, she and the committee have mobilised support for 48 beneficiaries, providing financial assistance ranging from VND 150,000 to VND 1 million per person per month. Over the past three years, she has raised more than VND 1.6 billion to aid thousands of individuals facing hardships in life.
Similarly dedicated, Tran Thi Chung, Chairwoman of the Women’s Association in Dong Hoa Village, Hoa Chau Commune, has long been passionate about her role. She actively encourages members and local women to trust and comply with Party directives, State policies, and laws, participate in local movements, and fulfil the association's targets. She has also launched the Health Insurance for Children initiative among members. “Many women and children in the area face significant challenges and need support. The initiative has garnered active participation from women members and benefactors,” she said. Thanks to these efforts, 150 gifts totalling VND 45 million have been distributed to disadvantaged women and children.
Although over 80 years old, Nguyen Phan Sen, Chairman of the Hoa Nhon Commune Learning Promotion Association, remains enthusiastic about education in his hometown. He frequently mobilises donors to provide scholarships for poor, orphaned students, helping them overcome challenges and excel academically. Over the past three years, he has raised nearly VND 2 billion to honour and support underprivileged and high-achieving students. His efforts have motivated students to persevere, study diligently, and become productive members of society. Thanks to his dedication, the learning and talent promotion movement in Hoa Nhon Commune has become a highlight of Hoa Vang District.
With compassion, benevolence, and simplicity, Venerable Thich Chuc Tin, Head of Linh Ung Pagoda - Ba Na, Hoa Ninh Commune, is devoted to humanitarian and charitable work. Annually, he provides over 140 health insurance cards for disadvantaged students, more than 150 merit-based gifts for outstanding students, and supports 73 Study Corners for Children. He also donates hundreds of gifts during Tet and assists in repairing 1-2 houses annually under the Great Unity Housing programme. Additionally, he supports seven children through the Motherhood Sponsorship programme. Following the severe floods in October 2022, Linh Ung Pagoda - Ba Na and Linh Ung Pagoda - Bai But distributed over 400 relief packages to flood-affected residents and students who had lost their school supplies.
These are just a few of the many exemplary individuals in Hoa Vang District who follow Ho Chi Minh's teachings in their daily lives. Regardless of position, age, or profession, everyone contributes through specific actions linked to their roles and responsibilities, fostering kindness, care, and mutual support, building and advancing their homeland together.
