The national agency is forecasting that thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, and damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure in the mid-central regional localities on November 18 and 19 due to the influence of disturbances in the upper easterly winds combined with cold air moving towards South Viet Nam.

Intense rainfall will likely cause inundation in low-lying areas, and potential flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes. Inland areas will see northeast winds at level 3, whilst coastal areas at level 4.

All ships and other activities at sea will be at high risk of being affected by high sea waves and strong winds.

According to the national weather agency, typhoon Man-yi intensified into a super typhoon early this morning. At 7:00 am on November 16, the centre of the super typhoon was in the sea east of the central Philippines with the strongest wind speed of level 16, gusts reaching level 17.

It is forecasted that by November 18, super typhoon Man-Yi will move into the East Sea and gradually weaken.

At 7:00 am on November 18, the storm will be located in the eastern part of the North East Sea with the strongest wind speed of level 12, and gusts reaching level 15.

By 7:00 am.on November 21, the centre of the tropical depression (due to the weakening of storm Man-Yi) will be located at about 16.8 degrees north latitude, 109.7 degrees east longitude in the sea from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai provinces with the strongest wind speed of level 6.
