Vibrant legal education activities for pupils
By implementing innovative and creative approaches, youth organisations across the city have launched various initiatives to promote legal awareness and education among young people, particularly pupils. These efforts not only provide essential legal knowledge and equip them with skills to handle legal scenarios but also foster a proactive attitude towards learning about the law among the younger generation.

Diverse forms of legal education
Leading the way in celebrating Viet Nam Law Day on November 9 , the Youth Union of Hoa Vang District organised the "I Love My Country" festival in early October, which included a quiz on the resolutions of the Viet Nam Youth Federation Congress. The event attracted significant participation from pupils.
In addition to theoretical quizzes, participants engaged in learning about the Youth Law and Traffic Safety Law, as well as interactive games designed to connect and educate youth. These activities promoted a spirit of respect for the law, enhancing awareness and behaviour among young participants. Similarly, the Youth Union and the District Council of Lien Chieu collaborated with Luong The Vinh Junior High School to host a festival titled "Lien Chieu’s Children: Studious, Disciplined, and Law-Abiding".
The festival featured captivating activities such as legal quizzes, drawing competitions focused on legal themes, and trivia games, drawing the participation of hundreds of pupils. Through these engaging sessions, pupils acquired knowledge while fostering appropriate behaviour and a respect for the law.
Mock trials have emerged as a novel method of legal education for youth. Many local youth organisations have collaborated with schools and institutions to stage such trials, effectively enhancing pupils’ understanding of the law. For instance, on November 8 , the Hai Chau District Youth Union partnered with the District Prosecutor’s Office and Phan Chau Trinh Senior High School to conduct a mock trial addressing drug-related crimes. Similarly, the Cam Le District Youth Union, in collaboration with various organisations, staged a mock trial that attracted over 900 pupils.
These trials adhered to the full protocols of criminal procedure as prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code. Participants not only observed realistic scenarios but also gained practical insights into legal principles. Nguyen Phu Khanh, a student at Cam Le Senior High School, reflected, “Instead of memorising dry legal texts, we learn by understanding the consequences of crimes and the penalties given. This helps us steer clear of such issues while reinforcing our respect for the law.”
Cultivating a law-abiding youth
In addition to face-to-face activities, the Da Nang Youth Union and its affiliates have organised various online programmes and competitions to encourage legal awareness among pupils. Notable examples include Thanh Khe district-based Youth Union’s quiz on the Youth Law and Son Tra district-based Youth Union’s online quiz on the Military Service Law, conducted via platforms like My Aloha.
To further spread legal knowledge, the Youth Union has sustained its interactive online series, “Da Nang’s Youth and Viet Nam’s Laws”, streamed quarterly on social media platforms. According to Truong Thi Ngoc Phuong, Head of the Propaganda Department, the series has gained nearly 100,000 views and interactions across four episodes, effectively instilling the principle of “Living and working according to the Constitution and the law” in young people.
According to Ms Nguyen Thi Anh Thao, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Youth Union, since the start of the year, 22 affiliated units have organised seven mock trials, benefiting 3,650 youths. Schools and youth organisations ensure that all young people receive education on policies and laws relevant to their lives through diverse methods, such as citizenship lessons, extracurricular activities, and awareness sessions.
Notable initiatives like the “Youth with the Law” club, the “Speak Well, Act Well” model, and the “Bright Role Model” programme have provided practical benefits, guiding children towards ethical living, patriotism, and respect for authority and relationships.
In commemoration of Viet Nam Law Day, the municipal Youth Union directed its affiliates to organise comprehensive legal education activities covering various Vietnamese laws. “These initiatives aim to elevate awareness, understanding, and foster a healthy lifestyle among the youth,” affirmed Thao.
