This is his fourth solo exhibition, following previous exhibitions ‘Cactus Flowers’, ‘The Life of Conical Hats - The Life of People’ and “Da Nang - Then and Now”.

Having devoted his whole life to photography, photographer Ong Van Sinh is one of the few artists who still preserve many valuable photographic sources about the land of Quang Nam - Da Nang, especially his hometown Da Nang.

Photographer Ong Van Sinh was born in 1954 in Phong Le village, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang. He has been a member of the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists since 1984. Initially, in 1968, photographer Mr. Van Sinh approached the camera and then worked in a studio in Da Nang, specializing in taking portraits and documents for the people.

After 1975, the photographer worked at the former Department of Culture - Sports of Quang Nam - Da Nang, taking on the work of taking publicity and documentary photos. This is also one of the favourable conditions and support for him to come to photography, having the conditions to visit many places to record the landscape, the country, the people, and the culture of the Quang Nam - Da Nang land.

Outstandingly, Sinh has won many awards in local, regional, national and international-level photo competitions, participated in many photography exhibitions at home and abroad.

With his contributions to the Association of Literature and Arts of Da Nang and the development of the Vietnamese art photography profession, Sinh was awarded the title ES VAPA by the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists.

The art photography exhibition with the theme ‘Colours of Light’ is a different perspective of photographer Ong Van Sinh on his homeland and the whole country. These are works selected by him from thousands of photos he has taken at the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival which has been one of the special events that contributes to the city’s brand over the past 10 years.

The 70 excellent works on display at the exhibition are the emotional levels of the artist when capturing the beauty of the art of light.

Each work, through the skillful shutter technique, depicts vivid lines, along with a series of shimmering colours of light on the iconic Han River, beautiful and magical moments, all of which create an artistic image interestingly associating with such images as Dragon Bridge; Han River Bridge, ripe rice paddy fields and boats heading out to sea.

At the age of 70 and more than 45 years of professional experience, photographer Ong Van Sinh is still tirelessly on the journey of creating and conquering the beauty of photography art. He is the one who preserves the city’s culture, history, and time through unique images.

With many bright colours and many visual art images using light, this exhibition is a wish for new year 2025 with lots of joy and new energy.
