Innovative approaches to supporting the underpriviledged
Over the years, the Front Committee (FC) of Residential Area No.13, Thanh Khe Tay Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang, has implemented significant reforms, enhancing its operations to effectively address residents' concerns and contribute to social welfare.

According to Mr Le Lap, Head of the FC for the 2024-2029 term, the committee has been restructured to ensure adequate numbers, composition, and quality of members. These individuals are highly dedicated, responsible, and trusted by the community, making the committee's work increasingly effective and meaningful.
A prime example of the committee’s impact is its campaign to promote mutual assistance among residents for poverty alleviation. This initiative fosters economic development, strengthens solidarity, and helps families improve their living conditions through shared resources and expertise.
In its efforts to support the vulnerable, the FC has mobilised donors to provide 140 gift packages, totalling over VND 30 million. In collaboration with Phu Loc Border Guard Station, it also organised the “Border Mid-Autumn Festival Night” for nearly 400 children, with contributions exceeding VND 36 million.
Through these efforts, the committee has raised funds and resources worth hundreds of millions of dong to support policy-beneficiary families, disadvantaged students, and households in hardship. These funds have also been used to build recreational facilities and sports areas, significantly enriching the local community's quality of life.
Additionally, the committee has introduced the “Sports Training Ground” initiative, which has raised over VND 45 million and mobilised labour to construct two badminton courts, a pétanque court, and gymnastic bars. These facilities have provided spaces for exercise while effectively utilising vacant land.
Ms Tran Thi Toan, a regular badminton player, expressed her excitement: “Every evening, I join others at the local badminton court. It’s convenient, and the well-equipped, clean facilities make our community even more vibrant.”
Moreover, the “Unite to Build Cultural Life in Residential Areas” campaign has garnered widespread participation, with 99% of households achieving cultural family status in 2024. The area has also reached milestones such as 100% street lighting coverage and sustained crime prevention efforts.
The FC has also initiated models like “Exemplary Residential Area”, “Plastic-Free Community,” and “Free Recreational Spaces for Children”. These projects have improved environmental awareness and fostered a sense of collective responsibility among residents.
Over the years, the FC has consistently performed excellently, earning accolades from various levels of governance. Mr Le Hoang, Chair of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee in Thanh Khe Tay Ward, remarked: “Residential Area 13's FC exemplifies the spirit of community-led initiatives, creating positive changes in living standards and strengthening neighbourhood bonds. Various movements and initiatives strongly reflect the role of the community under the motto: 'People know, people discuss, people act, people supervise, and people benefit.'”
