World Vision International sponsors some projects in Da Nang

The US World Vision International, on Tuesday, signed cooperation agreements with the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, and the People's Committees of Son Tra and Lien Chieu districts, on the implementation of some projects in the city.

Accordingly, the Lien Chieu District Region programme will be carried out in the wards of Hoa Minh, Hoa Khanh Nam and Hoa Hiep Nam from January 1, 2025 to September 30, 2027, with a total estimated budget of US$1,540,000.

The programme will include a project on child protection and child participation promotion, a livelihood project, and a project on mobilising community participation and child sponsorship. Its aim is to improve sustainable well-being for children, especially vulnerable ones.

Meanwhile, the project "Accompanying Children" will be implemented in primary and junior high schools, and residential areas, in some wards of Son Tra and Lien Chieu districts from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027. The total cost of the project is expected to be US$651,169. Of which, US$358,143 will come from Son Tra District’s budget, and US$293,026 from Lien Chieu District’s budget.

The purpose of the project is to contribute to capacity building, and promote participation and comprehensive community integration for autistic children and children with intellectual disabilities in the two districts.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Thuy Anh highly appreciated the cooperation and coordination of between World Vision International, and Lien Chieu and Son Tra districts, in building and designing programmes and projects.

She also expressed her belief that the programmes and projects will bring a better life to disadvantaged children, contributing to the effective implementation of child protection, care and education as well as ensuring social security in the city.

She took the opportunity to ask authorities in Son Tra and Lien Chieu districts to closely work with World Vision International to effectively implement the aforementioned programmes and projects on schedule as per the agreements signed.
