1,300 gifts presented to the poor in Quang Nam Province's mountainous districts

On January 4 and 5, the Central Region Resident Office - Voice of Vietnam (VOV Central) coordinated with the Military Region 5 Command, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam Province, the Management Board of the High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks of Da Nang, the municipal Young Physicians’ Association and the Da Nang Hospital to organise the programme "Giving Tet gifts - Connecting love for the Spring 2025" in Bac Tra My and Phu Ninh districts and Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province

The programme attracted the participation of more than 70 doctors and medical workers from the Da Nang Hospital, the Oncology Hospital, the Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, the Lung Hospital, the Military Hospital 17, the Hospital C, and the city Young Physicians’ Association

In particular, 1,300 Tet gifts, worth VND 600,000 each, were given to the poor in Bac Tra My and Phu Ninh districts and Tam Ky City in Quang Nam Province.

The doctors provided free medical examinations and medicine to 800 people in difficult circumstances and cardiovascular screening for 1,000 preschool and primary school children in Bac Tra My and Phu Ninh districts.

Additionally, five charity houses, with financial support of VND 70 million each, were donated to households in especially difficult circumstances in Tam Ky City. The total value of Tet gifts in this programme was about VND 1.7 billion.

Director of VOV Central region Pham Tan Tu said that through a series of the activities, VOV Central region and accompanying units hoped to bring the poor a warm and healthy Tet, thereby spreading love in the new spring.

He added that, over the past many years, VOV Central region has coordinated with Meliwa Electronics Company Limited to organise many charity programmes to help the poor. At the same time, the unit has coordinated with many businesses to organise Tet programmes for the poor in Quang Nam province. Through the appeal of VOV Central, Meliwa Electronics Co., Ltd. has supported more than VND 1 billion to build 16 charity houses for poor households in difficult circumstances in Tam Ky City and the mountainous districts of Dong Giang, Nam Giang, Hiep Duc and Bac Tra My of Quang Nam province.
