Da Nang calls for support to eradicate temporary, dilapidated houses in 2025

Speaking at the Tuesday ceremony to call on financial support for the programme ‘temporary and dilapidated housing eradication’ in 2025 in Da Nang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh emphasised that temporary and dilapidated housing eradication was one of the major policies of the Party and State, and an important political task with profound humanitarian significance to help the poor escape poverty and stabilize their lives.

According to Mr. Vinh, this was also a regular political task of Party committees, authorities and organizations at all levels and enterprises and individuals in the past time.

In order to create a vibrant competitive atmosphere and effectively implement the programme ‘temporary and dilapidated housing eradication’ in the city, he requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front committees, organisations, agencies, localities, and units to strengthen propaganda and dissemination of the content, purpose, meaning, goals, humanity, and benevolence of the programme. This will contribute to creating motivation, inspiring society, creating social consensus for everyone to share responsibility in caring for the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially the poor, the disadvantaged, people in difficult circumstances, and people affected by natural disasters and climate change.

Greater efforts should be made to basically complete the eradication of temporary and dilapidated houses by September 2, 2025 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 20 and welcome the 23rd Congress of the Da Nang Party Committee, Mr. Vinh added.

In his speech delivered at the ceremony, Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang Le Van Trung said that, with the spirit of "Joining hands for the poor, leaving no one behind", in recent years, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city have mobilised many resources and provided many support solutions to achieve the goal of poverty reduction and enhance the material and spiritual life of the people.

Currently, no dilapidated houses are recorded in the city, however, there are still many social policy households, poor and near-poor households, living in dilapidated houses.

Therefore, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city calls on all people, cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, workers, agencies, units, enterprises, religious organizations in the city and overseas Vietnamese to strongly respond to the abovementioned programme.

The Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city commits to effectively manage and use all support resources for the right purposes, publicly and transparently, and directly allocate them to each beneficiary household, so that people can soon build and repair houses and stabilize their lives.

Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi launched the emulation movement throughout the city and requested sectors, agencies, units, enterprises, armed forces, businessmen, cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and all people of the city, Da Nang people living in all regions of Viet Nam and abroad to promote and spread the tradition of solidarity, and respond to the emulation movement.

At the launching ceremony, 8 organisations donated a total of VND 3 billion to the programme.
