Da Nang launches 'Humanitarian Tet Market' for 200 poor households

On Friday, the Da Nang Red Cross Society organised the Larue programme named ‘Humanitarian Tet Market 2025’ with a series of activities for poor households in Lien Chieu District.

Accordingly, 200 people are poor households, single-parent families, the elderly, people with disabilities, families affected by natural disasters, households in difficult circumstances were given shopping vouchers at the ‘Humanitarian Tet Market’ activity, each voucher worth 800 thousand VND.

On display were essential items such as rice, spices, candy, kitchen utensils, soft drinks of all kinds, with stable price for customers, especially voucher holders.

In addition, 200 people received free-of-charge examinations for internal medicine, eyes, ears, nose and throat, ultrasound, electrocardiogram, X-ray, dentistry and medicine donations as well.

Ms. Le Thi Trinh, born in 1952, lives alone in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District). She came to the programme early to get the doctor's advice and receive support from Red Cross volunteers to shop for goods.

Choosing necessary products such as cooking oil, fish sauce, and a few beautiful boxes of cakes for use during the upcoming Tet holiday, Ms. Trinh shared: “The programme is very necessary for families like ours, not only giving us the opportunity to check our health, but also being able to buy necessities, helping us feel less worried during these days leading to Tet”.

In addition, the programme also has community engagement booths including folk games, lucky draws; the offering of free haircuts and calligraphy gifts.

The activity is sponsored by HEINEKEN Vietnam Brewery Company Limited with a total value of more than VND233 million. In addition to Da Nang, this business is organizing similar programmes in 25 provinces and cities for a total of 5,700 people in difficult circumstances, with more than VND 6.4 billion in aid.

The above-mentioned programme under the ‘Humanitarian Tet Movement 2025’ organised by the Da Nang Red Cross Society. Accordingly, there will be 5 markets deployed across the city to help families in difficult circumstances make preparations for Tet.
