The Da Nang Labour Federation has held a launching ceremony for the ‘Trade Union Train - Spring 2025’ bringing trade union members and workers in difficult circumstances back to their hometowns to celebrate Tet with their families.

The first year participating in the programme, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha Hien, a teacher at Tuoi Hoa Kindergarten, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang returned to her hometown in the northern province of Nam Dinh and could not hide her joy and excitement.

Her family of 4 members, every year to take coach rides to return home, the family had to wait and hunt for tickets with the cost of about 3 million VND. To reduce costs, Ms. Hien registered to participate in the ‘Trade Union Train’ many times, but the farthest journey was only to Thanh Hoa, so she has not had the opportunity to participate yet.

“Working hard all year round, every Tet my family wants to return home to reunite with their family, but the travel costs are too expensive. When I received the news that there was support for train tickets for long journeys, I was very happy. My parents in the countryside were also looking forward to hearing that their children were safe on the train. My family thanks the sincere concern and sharing of the Da Nang Trade Union at all levels. The support helps my family to save some money to buy Tet gifts for my parents in the countryside.”, said Ms. Hien.

Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Labor Federation Le Van Dai said, ‘The Trade Union Train - Spring 2025’ is a meaningful activity of the Da Nang Trade Union, actively contributing to efforts by the Party Committee and the government of Da Nang in implementing social welfare, thereby, showing timely concern and encouragement so that trade union members and workers can celebrate Tet with their families and relatives.

At the programme, the leaders of the Da Nang Labour Federation gave ‘li xi’ (lucky money), ‘banh chung’ (square sticky rice cakes) and saw off 54 trade union members and workers in difficult circumstances out of a total of 555 participants in the programme.

The ‘Trade Union Train - Spring 2025’ organised by the Da Nang Labour Federation has 28 trips, departing from the Da Nang station to Ha Noi as the farthest route to the North and Ho Chi Minh City in the South from January 24 to 28, 2025.

On this occasion, the Economic Security Office of the Da Nang Police Station coordinated with units to present gifts to trade union members and workers on the trains.
