Over VND 11 billion raised to support victims of AO

The Da Nang Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin held a meeting on Tuesday to review its performance in 2024 and deployed tasks for 2025.

In 2024, through many forms of propaganda and mobilisation, the Da Nang Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and its chapters at all levels raised VND 11.043 billion from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals.

External affairs continued to be effectively implemented. During the year, the Association welcomed nearly 23 foreign organisations and 400 foreigners to visit and support victims of AO.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi acknowledged and commended the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin for its efforts to excellently complete its tasks in 2024, contributing to the city's goal of ensuring social security.

She also requested the Association to continue to innovate its content and methods of operation with a proactive and creative spirit, associated with social security tasks and practical conditions to fulfil its assigned tasks.

At the same time, heed should be on working closely with relevant departments and agencies to propose specific plans and tasks suitable to the capacity and strengths of the association in the coming time, she added.

On the occasion, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang awarded Certificates of Merit to a collective and two individuals in recognition of their achievements in implementing its programme of coordination and action in 2024.
