Building a solid foundation for farmers
Preferential loans from the Da Nang Farmers Support Fund have become a solid foundation for members in difficult circumstances to expand production scale and develop economic models in recent times.

Thanks to that, many farmers have quickly risen up, improved their livelihoods, and stabilized their lives.
The Da Nang Farmers’ Association at all levels has many practical activities to support members to stabilise and develop their family economy, improve their material and spiritual life. In particular, the Da Nang Farmer Support Fund is a credit source to help farmers develop production, increase income and contribute to social welfare in the city.
Currently, the total capital of the Farmer Support Fund at the city level is more than VND 47.5 billion, and the total fund at the district level is more than VND8.8 billion. By early 2025, the city had disbursed more than VND44.7 billion for 200 projects with 1,343 households borrowing to develop production and business. In 2024, more than VND18.1 billion was disbursed for 65 projects with 411 borrowers. Loans were given to crop and livestock projects (accounted for 40%) and household production and business ones (60%).
Over the past year, the Farmer Support Fund has supported more than 500 workers to have stable jobs and develop household economies with models such as growing flowers and ornamental plants in Hoa Tho Tay and Hoa Xuan wards (Cam Le District), Hoa Cuong Nam and Hoa Cuong Bac wards (Hai Chau District), Hoa Chau Commune (Hoa Vang District); mushroom production, apple snail farming, freshwater fish farming, biosafety farming (Hoa Vang District); vegetable and fruit production in greenhouses; grain trading (Cam Le District); fish sausage production, beef sausage, garment processing (Thanh Khe District).
Along with capital support activities, the Da Nang Farmers’ Association at all levels has provided consultation, vocational training, job creation, and training and transfer of science and technology to farmers. As calculated, vocational training was offered to 2,142 member farmers and science and technology transfer was conducted for 4,838 farmers.
In 2024, a total of 6,888 households have achieved the title of good production and business operations at all levels. In November 2024, from the preferential loan capital of the Da Nang Farmer Support Fund, Mr. Tuong The Hoi, a farmer in Hoa Tho Tay Ward, Cam Le District borrowed VND 50 million offered at a preferential rate.
With this amount of money, he purchased more fertilizers, medicines, and materials to grow chrysanthemums for sales during Tet, creating regular jobs for many seasonal workers. At the same time, applying technical advances, he adjusted the amount of irrigation water, fertilizers, and lighting regime so that the flowers bloomed on time for Tet, helping him earn a profit of nearly VND300 million.
Also in 2024, the Farmers' Association chapter of Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District developed a biosafety chicken farming project. Accordingly, this agency allowed 13 members to borrow VND 400 million, for a term of 36 months.
Mr. Tran Minh Hai's household in Phu Son 1 village borrowed VND 30 million to build a barn, buy 500 chickens, and 300kg of feed. After 3 months, the chickens weighed 2-2.5kg/chicken, sold for VND120,000/kg, and earned a profit of more than VND20 million.
According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Farmers' Association, Director of the Da Nang Farmers' Support Fund Nguyen Kim Dung, the Farmer Support Fund has helped build and replicate economic development models, maximizing the potential and advantages of the locality. At the same time, it contributed to promoting the application of scientific and technical advances and high technology in production and business performances.
In the coming time, the Da Nang Farmers’ Association will continue to focus on supporting its member farmers to improve their skills in applying digital technology to production and sales activities, bringing agricultural products to e-commerce platforms; developing cooperatives and cooperative groups; training and fostering vocational skills for members.
In particular, heed will be paid to creating favourable conditions for farmers to access more preferential loans from the Farmers' Support Fund to boost production.
