They are not only healthcare givers for patients, but also relatives and friends who sympathise, understand, support and sharing the physical and mental pain of the sick.

Dedicated to patients

It can be affirmed that the fight to save the patient's life has never been easy for doctors and nurses. Therefore, in addition to improving medical ethics, doctors are always actively improving their knowledge and implementing many modern techniques in their profession.

Dr. Dao Trong Duc from the Department of Intensive Care - Anti-Poison at the Da Nang Hospital always puts patients at the centre. He is not afraid of difficulties and hardships, and is close to each patient. He tries to provide the most appropriate treatment regimen for patients.

In addition to always listening, understanding and sharing the difficulties with patients' families, Dr. Duc also actively advises and helps patients with difficult material and mental circumstances so that they can feel confident and secure when receiving treatment at the department.

Dr. Duc and his colleagues have well implemented the "Hospital-wide Red Alert" procedure in emergency work, and applied many modern and advanced intensive care techniques to save many seriously ill and critically ill patients.

Dr. Le Duc Nhan, Director of the Da Nang Hospital, commented “Dr. Dao Trong Duc and other medical workers of the department have saved the lives of many seriously ill patients, bringing joy and happiness to many patients and their families. At the same time, they have applied many advanced techniques, such as ECMO, ultrafiltration, and hypothermia. In particular, Dr. Duc treated and saved the lives of many COVID-19 patients with many underlying diseases”.

In addition to professional work, local doctors learn about the circumstances of the patients in order to be ready to support them both materially and spiritually.

As Head of Department of Surgery 2 of the Da Nang Oncology Hospital, Dr. Nguyen Van Lien has successfully performed thousands of complex surgeries in the field of head-face-neck cancer surgery, saving the lives of many patients from the brink of death.

Despite surgeries during lunch or hasty meals, Dr. Lien is still dedicated to his work. He always works enthusiastically every day to help patients have surgery sooner and decrease the length of hospital stay, thereby reducing treatment costs for patients.

In addition to his high level of expertise, Dr. Lien wholeheartedly loves patients, and always puts the interests and rights of patients first. In particular, Dr. Lien always cares about poor and vulnerable patients, and propose a social work team to provide timely support to needy patients.

Silently helping life

Along with doctors, the medical staff at the hospitals always silently help and take care of patients. Prominent among them are Head nurse Vu Thi Thanh Tam from the Department of Internal Medicine I at the Da Nang Lung Hospital; Dang Thi Kim Thu from the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Da Nang Hospital; Kieu Thi Minh Yen, from the Department of Emergency - Intensive Care and Pathology Neonatology at the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital. They are always trusted and loved by patients and are considered as patients’ relatives.

Not only caring for patients enthusiastically and thoughtfully, many of them also share their warm blood with critically ill patients. In addition, many of them personally go to ask for food vouchers and charity meals for patients and their relatives or call for donations from benefactors to pay for treatment costs.

Working in the Hematology - Blood Transfusion Department, medical technician Ho Phu from the Department of Testing at the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital has always been active in the voluntary blood donation movement, especially in emergency situations to promptly save patients from critical conditions. Up to now, Mr. Phu has donated blood more than 20 times.

Moreover, Mr. Phu actively mobilises and calls for volunteers to donate blood and platelets in emergency cases. In particular, he is a core member of the mobile sampling team under the command of the Department of Health.

Over the years, medical technician Le Thi Hong Nhung from the Department of Pediatric Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Hospital has intervened and cared for hundreds of children with syndromes such as autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, language development disorder, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, and motor retardation.

Every day, witnessing the disabilities of children and the difficulties that their parents have to go through, Ms. Nhung wants to contribute a small part of her efforts to accompany the families on the path to bringing their children back to the community.

In more than 28 years of working in the medical sector, head midwife Tran Hoang Suong from Department of Prenatal Diagnosis at the Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital has been enthusiastic in her work and always conscious of serving and caring for patients wholeheartedly and thoughtfully.

Ms. Suong always proactively consults patients for screening and ultrasound examinations; and detects and monitors congenital abnormalities of the fetus in high-risk pregnancies.

Each medical worker has their own story and feelings, but the common point is the joy of saving lives and curing illnesses for patients. Despite the hardships and many dangers, they have overcome everything with a boundless love for the sick and especially with their bright hearts, they still work tirelessly day and night, reviving the lives of countless people.
