Previously, at around 5:00 pm on February 11, the Naval Region 3 Command received a distress signal from fishing boat QNg 94397TS from Quang Ngai Province.
When the ship was conducting fishing activities in the sea, about 45 nautical miles northeast of Con Co Island, Quang Tri Province, 45-year-old fisherman Nguyen Xanh, residing in Duc Pho Town, Quang Ngai Province, had his right foot entangled in a fishing net, resulting in 1/3 of his right foot being severed, causing a lot of bleeding and panic.
The ship's captain contacted the Naval Region 3 Command to request the urgent evacuation of the crew member for medical treatment.
Upon receiving the information and following orders from the superior command, ship 313 quickly approached the fishing boat in distress at 6:00 pm on the same day.
Medical personnel on board the rescue ship quickly deployed first aid measures, temporarily stopped bleeding, provided painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs, and preserved the severed limb to ensure the foot reattachment surgery for the victim before transporting him to the mainland.
