27 billion VND to be poured into green and circular economy development in Da Nang
A workshop to launch activities under the project "Creating conditions for women in Central Viet Nam to improve their lives and protect the environment and natural resources through the application of green and circular economy" was held in Da Nang on Friday.

The event was organised by the municipal Union of Science and Technology Associations in collaboration with the Green Viet Biodiversity Conservation Center (GreenViet), the Visible Impact - a German non-profit organisation, and the Centre for Social Research and Development (CSRD).
The project will be implemented in Tho Quang Ward, Son Tra District; and Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Vang District, in Da Nang; and Tu Commune, Dong Giang District, Quang Nam Province, from 2025-2028. It is sponsored by the European Union (EU) Delegation to Viet Nam with a total budget of 1 million EUR (about 27 billion VND).
The main activities of the project are to disseminate knowledge, improve skills and support people to access and operate business and production activities in the direction of green and circular economy, joining hands to achieve the goal of net zero emissions by 2050 (Net Zero).
The project sets targets of 70% of people in Hoa Bac Commune and Tho Quang Ward understanding green and circular economy, and 165 women proactively producing and increasing income by 30% through completing the network of linkages in the circular economic chain.
At the same time, a fund worth 2 billion VND will be established to support women in implementing green and circular economic models in the locality.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Gonzalo Serrano, a representative of the European Union Delegation to Viet Nam, praised Da Nang for its green and circular economic development programme. With this project, the city will effectively implement the abovementioned programme, especially helping a small group of women and disadvantaged people improve their lives and protect the environment and natural resources.
With the participation of relevant units and localities in implementing this project, the goals set by the project are expected to be achieved by 2028.
Permanent Vice President of the Da Nang Union of Science and Technology Associations of Da Nang Cit Nguyen Dinh Phuc highly appreciated the project with the goals of developing a green and circular economy, aiming at sustainable development, and combining environmental protection and conservation of natural resources and biodiversity.
