Da Nang presents 100 solidarity houses to Quang Nam Province

On Saturday, Da Nang leaders attended a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over six solidarity houses for poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances in the revolutionary base area of ​​Quang Nam - Da Nang during the resistance war on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Quang Nam Province and Da Nang.

The first 6 solidarity houses handed over in the districts of Dong Giang District, Tay Giang and Duy Xuyen (2 houses in each district) are part of the Da Nang's programme to support 100 solidarity houses to help poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances in the revolutionary base area.

Each house has an area of ​​50-70m2, including a living room, bedroom, kitchen and toilet, and suitable for the living conditions of local people.

The total cost of building 100 houses is VND 6 billion which comes from the city budget and donations by a number of organisations and individuals.

On the occasion, Da Nang donated VND 10 billion to support Quang Nam Province in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and ensuring social security work.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh expressed his joy when the houses of gratitude were completed and handed over to needy families. He emphasized that this was a meaningful gift showing the deep gratitude of the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang to the families in the revolutionary bases.

“We hope that these houses of gratitude will help families in difficult circumstances have a decent place to live, stabilise their lives, work and produce with peace of mind” he added.

In reply, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Dung thanked the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang for their attention and support for families with preferential policies and families in difficult circumstances in the province.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung affirmed that these houses of gratitude that Da Nang has implemented are extremely important, affirming the deep affection and spirit of mutual love between the two localities and are a great source of encouragement to help poor households overcome difficulties and stabilise their lives.

“We will continue to coordinate with Da Nang to implement many meaningful programmes and projects to support social welfare, contributing to improving people's lives,” said Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung.
