A large number of photographers, businesses and young people passionate about photography recently attended a meeting on sharing ideas for establishing a Photography and Application Cooperative held at the Startup Room of the Hai Chau District Culture and Sports Centre in Da Nang.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the preservation and promotion of cultural values, nature and people of Viet Nam through photography. At the same time, the programme emphasised the training and entrepreneurship in the photography industry.

During the event, the reporters shared about the trends and current status of the photography industry. The global photography industry is growing strongly with many applications in communications, advertising, fashion, and digital content creation.

Some prominent trends include AI applications in photography to optimize lighting, quickly edit photos; and NFT trends helping photographers digitize and trade images via blockchain.

In Viet Nam, the photography industry is on the rise but still faces many challenges such as product pricing, copyright protection, and unclear career opportunities.

Once established, the Photography and Application Cooperative will focus on building a professional photography community, supporting photographers to legalize their activities; developing a training and career guidance system in the field of photography; building a digital photo warehouse to protect copyright and create a sustainable source of income; promoting cooperation with businesses, media and tourism organizations; and applying AI, VR/AR technology to commercial and artistic photography.

The meeting opened up many opportunities for cooperation and development of the photography cooperative model in the future. This is not only a support platform for photographers but also contributes to promoting and preserving Vietnamese cultural values ​​through the art of photography.
